Fargo Flood

I have not really posted anything about the flood, I really don't know why. We had a big flood last week, that I am sure a lot of you have seen on the news. They thought the river was going to reach 41 feet, which normal river level is 14 feet. The community really came together and sandbagged a lot of the city. Nick was able to go out everyday last week and help different people in the ward and some people he didn't even know. I often say that I don't like living here because of the cold, but the people of this community are wonderful and because of them I am able to handle living here. I never thought I would say this, but I am going to be sad when we leave in a year.
Luckily the river never got that high, it reached 40.8 feet which is the highest it has ever been. The river has gone down a lot, but they are now worried that when all this snow that we got from the blizzard earlier this week melts, it will again raise the river.

I watched this you tube video the other day on facebook and it made me cry. So, I thought I would share it with you. It really shows you the sense of community, much better than I can explain.

My little Ashlee, your blog was simply amazing. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and also the video. On the video I saw people working hard yet laughing and having a good time even though it looked like it was freezing cold. There's nothing like doing a service when things in your own life seem difficult. I really needed this. Thank you! I love and miss you!
