High Rise Competition Results

Nick's studio class this past semester had a High Rise Competition, they were paired up and then they had to design a high rise somewhere within a given area in San Francisco. Nick worked with Petar Valkov. Their choice of location was on the corner of Howard and 3rd St. It housed offices, retail shops, a hotel and housing. After the judging they were given first place. Here are a few pictures of the completed project and their presentation board.

Christmas Fun!!

I have been wanting to post this all week and I finally found time to sit down and do it. Last Saturday we went to Santa's Village. It is this really cute place were you can meet Santa, decorate cookies with Mrs. Claus, see reindeer, and go on a horse drawn ride. The boys had a great time, even though it was freezing cold.

Thanksgiving Week

Some of the fun things we did during Thanksgiving week in Utah...

Kangaroo Zoo...



We went to this fun place with Angie and her family. It had a bunch of blow-up things to play on for kids and adults. Austin had a blast right from the beginning going down the slides and jumping on everything. Brodie was a little unsure at first, but he eventually started having fun. He still was a little afraid of the really big slides(he is a little afraid of heights). Nick and I even got to play. I was exhausted by the time we decided to leave, but it was a ton of fun.

Riding Horses...



Grandpa Weber was so kind to let all of the grand kids ride his horse Cookie. Austin thought it was the best thing ever and took a lot of turns. Brodie wanted me to ride with him, which I did not mind at all, I was a little surprised he actually wanted to ride. I think after he did, he realized how much fun it was.

Playing in the Tree House...


Nick and his brother's started building this tree house when we lived with them in Vernal, about 3 years ago. It is not yet complete, but the kids absolutely love playing on it, they recently added a slide so the kids had a way to get down. Brodie was really funny, he did not want to climb the ladder for anything. We tried talking him into it, Nick tried going up with him but he would not have anything to do with it. Then the cat decided to climb up and Brodie decided if the cat can to it then so can I, after that there was no stopping him.

Decorating Grandma's Christmas Tree...


The grandchildren got to put their ornaments on Grandma Weber's Christmas tree. They all have an ornament for each year, since they were born, with a picture of themselves inside.

Shooting..

Nick has tried to talk me into shooting with him for a very long time, but I always tell him no way. This year that all changed. I shot a gun for the first time, and it was a lot of fun. I told Nick that we should do this more often. I think he was so excited that I actually enjoyed it.

Nick and I also got to go to Rusty's wedding in Logan. He is an old friend from Arkansas. It was great to see him and his family again. It was also great to go to the Logan temple, my first time inside, it was beautiful. I forgot to take my camera so I did not get any pictures(if someone wants to email me a few that would be great), but the wedding and reception were wonderful.

We had a great trip, it was so great to see friends and family.

On Sunday the 23rd all of Nick's family got together to take pictures and have dinner. Everyone was not able to come to Vernal for Thanksgiving so we had a fun evening in Salt Lake. I can not believe how big the family is getting, there are 16 grandchildren (all under the age of 8) and two on the way. I have to say the picture turned out pretty good considering it was taken on a timer. They kids did very well. It was a lot of fun getting together and seeing everyone.
